Reality Suite

How the band started??
(BRIAN) Joe, Antonio and I have been friends since junior high school. Antonio and I formed bands as kids. Joe and I were in bands together post-high school but eventually we all went our separate ways for a few years. After each of us individually rode the music industry roller coaster with other bands (Copperpot/10 Heads High/Fly Me Courageous) we each quit music for a short period.  In early 2009, Joe, Antonio and I casually started jamming eventually snowballing into what became Reality Suite. After several singer auditions, we scored Melissa.

What's the message to transmit with your music??
(BRIAN) I believe everything we write has some kind of edge. But there is definitely a pop thread through-out our music. Although we are fans of most pop music, we try to avoid clichés and unsubstantial lyrics.

What's your method at the time of writing a song??
(BRIAN) There are a few methods of how we write. We have had nights where Joe, Antonio and I would jam for hours and record every minute. Then I would take the digital files home and sort through the sessions looking for great moments and build songs around them. Lately, we each have ProTools at home, so if Joe has a guitar idea - he will record it, then send me the files - then I would lay down electric drums, synths and write and record the lyrics/melodies. That demo we would present to Antonio and Melissa then add their perspectives. That is how we wrote our current single, "SaveMyLife."

Which is your music influences??
(Brian) In this band, it depends on which band member you ask!  The four of us truly bring different influences to the table creating a unique sound.

The Killers, Bon Jovi, Vanessa Carlton, The Bravery, Muse, Deep Purple, Nickleback, Shiny Toy Guns, The Beatles, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Ke$ha, Paramore, The Ting Tings

What plans do you guys have for the future??
(BRIAN) We love to write and record the best songs that we can and hopefully reach the most people that we can. In May we released our debut CD, Blueprints for building a better _____. We are just releasing a new single, "SaveMyLife." And while giging in the New Jersey/New York area we are developing more new material. As long as we are having fun and consistently building a fan base, we'll be happy. Scoring an independent record label would be nice........but we have the freedom to write what we want at the pace that we want right now.

Which has been the funniest prank you guys have been or took part while on tour or after a show??
(JOE) The best prank was on us - winning a battle of the bands recently and never opening for the national act which was part of the 1st prize…. Shame on them for forgetting about us! Punks!

(BRIAN) When tracking Melissa’s vocals in the studio, Antonio and I like to let the tape roll without her knowing while she is warming up and talking nonsense. When we do rough mixes we slip in her nonsense banter to get a laugh!

If you guys were stranded in the middle of nowhere after a show or while on tour. The help is 65 miles away from where you guys are, ¿Who would you guys send to look for help? And if while the rest wait, there's no food and the only way to feed yourself is by eating each other, ¿Who would you eat first?
(JOE) Melissa… hands down….I don’t eat man meat…

(BRIAN) Joe and I would be nominated to run for help while Melissa and Antonio browse YouTube and update their Facebook pages.  Missy would have to be the meal of choice, Antonio is too hairy (hairballs!)

(MELISSA): I would starve to death. (LOL!)

Which country you guys would love to play?
England! Italy!

With which bands you guys would love to share stage??
The Bravery, The Killers, Butch Walker, U2, Muse, Shiny Toy Guns

Are you guys OK, with the direction the band is going actually?
(JOE) Hell No!! Do you see a major label logo on our CD??? WTF?! (BTW our debut CD is called Blueprints for building a better ___________  )
